How long does Zaino last?

Well winter is on its way and with it comes snow and salt. YUUUCK! Anyway, the few cars I do on the side, most are looking for protection now. So Im thinking SG, or Zaino topped with #476 would be an all winter system.

My question is how long does Zaino last on the shelf? I have some Z1, Z2, Z5, etc that is 3-ish years old now. I has ZXF but cant seem to find it. IS this stuff still good? If so, how long after a coat befoer I coulf top with 476? Most customers cant leave their cars for days.

If I need to order new, would I get better protection and looks from SG (again topped with 476)? How long after applying SG could I top with 476?

Or would I be better off to just apply 2 coats of 476?

Most Zaino products have a shelf life of around 3-5 years. ZFX however is only 18 months or so.

IMO, if you are using ZFX, you should be able to add a topper quickly after removing the Zaino.

Direct from Sal Zaino:

When stored in a cool dry place. Avoiding extreme heat or cold. Shelf Life is as follows:

Z-1 For optimum results use before 3 years.

Z-2 For optimum results use before 3 years.

Z-5 For optimum results use before 3 years.

Z-6 5 years +

Z-7 5 years +

Z-9 5 years +

Z-10 For optimum results use before 2 years.

Z-12 For optimum results use before 2 years.

Z-14 For optimum results use before 2 years.

Z-16 3 to 5 years

Z-18 5 years +

ZFX For optimum results keep tightly capped and use before 18 months

Well my Z is on the crispy edge then, might use it on the freebies (in laws, wife's car, etc). How long after using Z2 should I wait before topping with 476 (without using ZXF)?

If it was a customer car that expects maximum protection. One week even with ZFX or even Klasse SG. I realize that is not what you want to hear. :(

Have customer friend return or just use one or the other. I hear Collinite is rather durable.

I didn't know that one. I just used some ZFX (18+ months) this past weekend and it was a little "syrupy". It use to come out like a thin liquid (like water). I was thinking because it was in my garage and was cool for a few days, it caused the ZFX to "thicken" up.

Anyway, I used it with some Z5 and it went on and off like normal. :nixweiss

At least 24 hours .. preferably a week.

I have had my ZFX for over 2 years with no problems. Cap is always on tight, kept in a cool dry place , and she's still liquidy>
