How long do you work in a wax/protectant?

Hi guys, I was just curious how long some of you work in a wax or protectant before you let it dry/cure. I use a PC and a grey finishing pad and work EX-P in for 5-6 passes on speed 4 and was wondering if more working in is needed with it or all sealents. What do you look for in order to move onto a new section (product almost not visible after working in, etc...). Just want some thoughts.

Thanks

Interesting question. I personally don't "work" a wax or sealant, just a couple of passes to make sure I have complete coverage. Maybe some of the experts here can enlighten us with the proper procedure. :dunno

I think a moose with a guitar could be an expert :lmfao :rolling

:yeah ...you don't work in a wax or sealant:nono I usually spread them either by hand or in the case of EX-P on a pc at speeds of 1-2 just to spread evenly, and a second time to make sure there was full coverage.

Yep, that is all I do too.

Whew- good to know.
When I used to use Meg's GC liquid, I could feel it go "pearly" after a bit- sortof break down into a cream (like liquid pearls) rather than just the normal liquid consistancy. It's the only product I've ever encountered that did this, so I don't work in wax anymore.

If you mean "work in" as in working the product as you would a cleaner/polish to make a change in the vehicle's finish, then no, I don't work in LSP's

BUT if you mean "work in" as in working the product around with light to no pressure trying to get as even and thin of a spread as possible, then yes I do work the LSP's

Confused yet? :crazy :lmfao

I use Zaino Z2 and Z5. Although Sal doesn't recommend it, I use an LC CP red pad to apply it. I "work" it only until I can see that I've got a thin, even coat and then move to the next section.

Regards,

Dan.

The only LSP I work in is Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax since it has micro-abrasives/cleaners. Furthermore, I only work it in with a 2 pass max at 1000rpm if I am using it to polish, otherwise I just work it in until I see it's on the surface (1 pass).

Let dry and remove :)

Hmm alrighty. I've been working my sealants a little stronger than that! I will be sure to work @ 2 and just spread it fast and easy. Guess its okay to use a little more product!
