How is your UCoat-It holding up?

May want to consider H&C concrete stain instead, based on my neighbors experience. It seems to hold up better.

Just an idea.

After almost 3 years of delay :), I am finally going to order the UCoat and UFlek-AF this week, the cost is $522 shipped. Anyone with recent experience on this?

I have thought about Rustoleum Epoxy and it's about $400 cheaper!

It's been awhile since any new updates. Thanks!

I'm planning to use it in my new garage, how many years is yours so far and the durability?

Thanks!

I'm on my 2nd year and my friend is on his 3rd. U-Coat-It is holding up VERY well. Zero lifting.

Before U-Coat-It, I had Behr concrete paint on my floor and it didn't last 6 month. It chipped, moisture & hot tires lifted the paint, etc..... It was a royal POS to remove and prep for U-Coat-It, but it was worth it.

thanks for the feedback, i can assume it's worth the extra $400 for the durability and quality. Do you have any pics or additional advice when applying? I read the manual from there website and it seems pretty easy, only hard part is the prep.

Yes, floor prep is the most important step.

Here's a shot after 1 coat. I'm planning to add the texture/clear this spring.

Correct.

You put down a primer/base coat, and then 1 color coat over that in a single pack, which covers a 20 x 20 floor (or slightly larger).

We had the product "professionally" applied a few months ago, and I am generally pleased with the results--at least where the surface was properly prepared. Spots of coating have lifted at a couple of locations. It appears to be where the tire dressing product stained the concrete, but the entirety of the stain did not get properly treated/removed during the surface preparation work. The surface does show the tire foot print (see below) but this cleans up easily.

Hey Hojo, I'm looking at doing this too - who did the application? How much does it cost to have someone do it for you?

Also, where did you get the cabinets and the slatboard? They look pretty nice - how do you like them?

Well, I suspect you should budget about $1500 to have a profession painter prepare the surface and apply the multi-stage coating. Time must be allowed for cure, so the process will take a few days.

The cabinets and slatboard can be found at Wall to Wall Storage Solutions

Garage Storage Systems, Garage Storage Cabinets, and Flooring. Storewall slatwall and wall accessories as well!

Hojo that looks great, but you should have them come back and fix the bad spots!

And is that med or light grey with what kind of flek? Thanks.

I finally ordered the UCoat and Uflek-AF in light gray and granite fleks :) When the weather gets better, I will be applying it on, definitely excited!

Prep work is very important, if not done right you will have problems down the road. Also H&C stains work very well also and H&C as a new epoxy floor paint that is almost like ucoat it. Great looking pic's of all of your garage's:up
