How I spent my afternoon... spruce up those wells!

Luster

COMPULSIVELY ANAL
It was an extremely nice day here in KC so I took the opportunity to swap my summer rims for the factory wheels, before the snow flies....

And... As long as I had the wheels off... what the heck. I decided to do a little wheel well cleaning before winter in an effort to keep rust to a minimum....

I always "Mist" the rotors with silver engine paint twice a year. I don't mask off the contact area, but, as you can see, I didn't apply much paint. Just enough to inhibit rust.

I used Simple Green to scrub the plastic wheel wells. Then soaked with AA Tire Foam, and wiped to a sheen.

Used 20/20 for the calipers and springs.

Also cleaned strut/spring assemblies. Anal? Why yes, I believe I am..... :shifty:

vey nice. It is also quite rare to find people who devote their time changing wheels for the winter. Im sure i would if i lived up north. Good Job!

BTW what liquid did you use to paint the corrosion ? i might ned some. :eat:

Looks excellent, Bill!

I like those stock wheels a lot. Perhaps, more than your aftermarket ones. They fit the drop and subtle exterior mods well.

I just rough up the rust on the rotor with some medium grit sandpaper and spray a on a little Dupli-Color High Temp Engine Paint (Aluminum color) ... Available at Advance Auto Parts.

Looks great Bill

But don't you get a little nervous with 2 bicycles hanging over you beautiful ride

Now that you are aware, don't look at them as bicycles, look at them more as future cash for additional detailing supplies
