How does everyone use CD2 Engine Detailer?

It says spray liberally, let sit for 15 minutes to soak in. Its my first time using it today and I did a test spot on my motor plastics, and it seems like I used half the can up on only a few plastic pieces. I let them sit for like 10 minutes and they still werent dry. I think I may have used to much of the detailer.

Does anyone just spray on, and buff in?

Did you drive the car after you applied the dressing? I haven't used CD-2 for quite some time now (it doesn't seem to be available around Omaha anymore), but I seem to recall the directions saying to spray down the engine bay, then drive for 15 minutes or so to complete the drying and curing of the dressing.

As I said, though, it's been a long time since I've used CD-2, so I could be way off.

Here's what I do . . .

1. Clean engine

2. Run engine for a few minutes to dry water with engine heat

3. Use towel to dry any remaining water

4. Spray CD2 on entire engine compartment holding the can a couple of feet above the engine compartment

5. Run engine for a few minutes to cure the CD2

Works every time ;)

You really don't need to use too much. You were probably spraying it on from too close. I get at least 10 engine bays from a can.
