i just got done polishing a 97 camaro, i started w ssr2.5/edge green pad and it didnt even touch them i then went to something like DACP nothing all this was done w/ a pc so i jumped it up to a rotory megs polishing pad & 2.5.... Nothing im not too sure about using SSR's w/ a rotory all in all i ended up using IP w/ a Megs polishing pad. My ? is when you use the ssr's what pad/ speed are you using them at. THANKS

I have a De Walt orbital that I use on high with a orange cutting pad and SSR2.5. I have never founfd anything that I have not been albe to fix with this combo. I have also used SSR's with a rotary and have got great results. However I do not use high speeds about 600 RPM's and work the product real well. I think that the SSR line up is about the best SWR line that I have ever used.

Sounds like you needed to either move up to SSR3 or go with a more aggressive pad...
according to these descriptions:
# Yellow Medium Cut Pad (E-621Z). This pad is useful for light oxidation and moderate to severe swirls and imperfections. This pad will yield amazing results on older vehicles, and should be used on vehicles with moderate swirls and imperfections. Add a compound or pre-wax cleaner for a flawless finish on base coats. 50 pores per inch (ppi)

# Green Light Cut Pad (E-622Z). This pad is highly versatile, as it can be used on cars with light to moderate swirls and imperfections. We recommend you begin with this pad if you are unsure how deep swirls are, moving up to a Yellow Medium Cut Pad if necessary. Safe on clear coats. 60 pores per inch (ppi)

you needed the yellow pad not the green one as the green is for light to moderate problems..if you needed that strong of a product with a rotary , you probably would have needed to use a cutting pad first.

I've had good results using SSR 2 with yellow edge pads ,2.5 with the yellow edge pad would have made quicker work of it but at the time I didn't have any 2.5 .

If the swirls are bad I would start with 2.5 and a green edge pad and if that wasn't working I would change to a yellow edge pad.

I just used the SSR2.5 with orange pad...and it left such a perfect smr finish..a real amazing set-up...
It is quite somethimng when you see the swirls and fine scratches disappear...

Dont be afraid to re-do an area 2 or 3 times before stepping up in polish/pad aggressiveness. Too often people are in a rush and expect miracles to happen with one pass. Be paitent. But if scratch syptoms persist, please see SSR3.....:)

I absolutely love SSR2.5...im using a rotary that i have set on pretty low and im using a 3M polishing foam pad...it works really well for me...that polish leaves the car sooo slick and takes out any small imperfections. Also is good for spotting in little blemishes by hand too. I had a stain from bird poop on my spoiler ( 93' camaro z28 ) and just used a foam hand applicator and buffed it right out....easy as anything. Good stuff
