i have some hyper dressing and some safe degreaser from the detailer line on the way and was planning to dilute it but im not sure of the specifics.do you have to use filtered water or just tap water?

If it were me, I'd probably use distilled water to dilute the hyper dressing, and tap water to dilute the degreaser. I'd do this because when the water evaporates from the dressing, it will leave behind any mineral content. I wouldn't want the minerals to keep the trim/tires/etc from looking their best.

Call me picky if you must... :)

you know you have a good question. the problem is most people do not understand how the ratios work. I may not spell to good but I know how to dilute. SO here is how I do it. I will use your degresser as an example. if its 10:1 then take a gallon jug and mix (in that makes the math ez) a gallon has 128 oz you will be mixing a total of 11 parts (10:1) so divide 11 into 128 and you 12oz of degresser per gallon of H2O. mixing it to gether you want to put in most of the H2O first then the chem. or it will foam and your ratio will be off. once most of the water is in and the chem is in top off the with the rest of the H2O if needed. hope that helps.!

I use distilled water... mainly because I don't want water spots or streaks from any spots that I may have inadvertently missed (important with things like ONR diluted to a QD, IMO).

Distilled water is only $0.50/gallon at the grocery store -- and that's retail! No reason to cheap out and use anything else.

then you are lucky, my friend... all the retail stores around here charge ~$1.50 a gallon for the stuff!

However, Wally World charges about $.60 so when I get the courage to go there, and park a mile away, then I'll stock up at that point :D

thanks all that def helps.i will get some distilled water to use.i also found an old post on meguiarsonline.com that explains really well the process on diluting the detailer line.thanks for all ya'lls help(yes im from Texas):heelclick
