How can we make fillers last longer?

I bought some Meguiars NXT 2.0 because of its ability to fill in some small scratches and swirls. But I was wondering if I were to put two coats of NXT to make sure all the swirls are gone and I didn't miss any areas, Then put two coats of Collinite 476S because that stuff lasts a while...

Do you think that would keep the NXT fillers on the paint for 6 months?

im not sure about all that but Megs has some great reviews on there Quick Wax spray. Just spray it on after washes to maintain your just waxed look. Its said to hide scratches and swirls a little to. Im definitely giving it a try.

Some fillers seem to last about as long as the LSP or even longer, while others (primarily oils-related ones as best I can tell) don't.

When I do some hiding with Autoglym SRP, thins stay hidden *longer* than the 476S topper lasts. When I use a Meg's Pure Polish, by the time the 476S is dead the marring is visible. When Menzerna 106FF did some concealing, the marring "came back" *LONG* before the 476S was even close to needing redone.

one thing you'll find with NXT is how static-y it is. You'll get a lot of dust build up. I wouldn't recommend it-perhaps zaino would be a better alternative.

With 476S on top will that matter?

Make the fillers out of polymers:

I wish but some Wax people should take that into consideration. I am no chemist though.

Thanks for the tip Accumulator!

Check out the new version of [the product formerly known as DWG] when the new guy finally comes out with it.

Then top that with FK1000P or Collinite. Which are what I'd try on top of SRP if I wanted to try something quick and easy right now. SRP has pretty durable fillers for an AIO/synthetic cleaner wax.

Lets not give body shop hacks any ideas here.

I am not in the body shop business I just want my car to look its best.

What is or was DWG, FK1000P and SRP?

how about applying a wax on top of a glaze?

Well, yeah...Collinite 476S works well for that. Or the FK1000P on top of sealant-friendly glazes. Even the Blackfire approach with their filler-rich polish topped with their sealant is along those lines.

It's not hack work if there's a reason to not abrade the paint. And, heh heh, the hacks already know how to do what they do ;)

Speaking of which, whatever Hendrick Lexus in Charlotte NC uses on their used cars is really somthing else...conceals and lasts like nothing I've ever seen.

DWG= Danase Wet Glaze. There's a thread going currently about the new version of it.

FK1000P= Finish Kare's "Hi Temp Paste Wax", which is really a paste sealant.

SRP= Autoglym Super Resin Polish, their version of an all in one product.
