How can I get my paint to look like this????

Okay. I found this pic on Nitto's website, ignore their sweetass new tire in the background and focus on the equally impressive F430 in the foreground:

Damn that paint is hot. I just want to eat it. :werd:

How can I get the red paint on my car, which is actually only a few numbers in the paint code away from the rossa corsa on this ferrari, and almost indistinguishable in person, to look like this. It is just what I'm looking for. Kinda glassy, kinda wet, kinda perfect. :chuckle: My paint is looking kinda hazy(not pure and clear) and I'm confused as to what that my be. I'm going to try and clay it and see if that helps, but I don't know. I have ssr 2.5 and 1. Along with SFX 2 and SFX 3 too.

Wax and sealant wise I have Z5, Z2 Pro, and Souveran, will these work?

How can I get my paint to look like this? Is there anything I can to to reduce the haziness?

Mikey

Okay another question I'm detailing a few of my friend's cars this next week. Is there any chance I could burn through the paint with SSR 2.5? I just don't want it to happen that's all...

well the depth and wet look comes from your prep work such as clayying, polishing, glazing. without seeing what ur paint looks like, its hard to tell but if you want a deep, clear look, i love Menzerna for polishes, Clearkote RMG for a glaze and top it off with souveran, if you want a more wet look, replace souveran with nattys blue

With all kidding aside, I think you should look into Final Polish II from Menzerna; my paint had the hazy (micromarring) look I think you are talking about...here is a picture

Then if you want it wet/reflective/clear I would go for Jeff's Werkstaat Prime Carnuba then Acrylic Jett. Otherwise you can always go with Clearkotes RMG and then top with Nattys Blue. Hope this helps a litte.

Edit: Just re-read your post and if you dont want to buy any new products I would try either SSR1 or SFX3 on a finishing pad and then top with whatever you would like :)

Well yes, that kind of web site picture is always taken under professional lighting and retouched with photoshop.

You will never see that kind of shine on your car unless you use a special setup like that...

EDIT : BTW your car's first pic looks like you have a swirl. The rear fender look superb though....

it also has to do with the quality of the paint. Some paints are ludicrous expensive. And they look

just like that photo shoped image in any lighting. House of Kolor is one such maker, known for edible looking paint.

My guess is that you have a Chill Red Mini Cooper S - well I have one also and I did FP and Z2Pro and here is what it looks like:

Chilly Red Mini paint is kind flat without metallic and seems to respond to NB and PS better than Zaino even with Z8. I still running Zaino on my Mini because of durability.

Here is a shot of my roof...

I used my PC, some ZPC and 9 coats of Z2 on my five year old SC430 and got some pretty good results, even without Photoshop.

:wow: I gotta go shoot some pics tomorrow and post otherwise my envy will drive me nuts... But you deserve a real hearty congratulation :bow

They are right on. I have never touched up a single picture I have ever posted online. I just strive to have the shiniest I can get and call it good:

NICE CAR DENNIS!

Yeah I went over to my next door neighbor's house today and looked at the paint on his BRAND NEW as he got it this afternoon new Rossa Corsa F430. HOLY COW, nice car. The paint almost looked fake, even from the dealer, and I know for a fact Ferrari has a special paint process similar to that of Bentley. He got his from Bentley Gold Coast in Chicago, the same dealer that messed up the paint on my dad's car, guess they changed their ways...

Anyway here's some pics of my car, though I don't know if you can catch it but the paint just doesn't look clear for some reason.

I haven't clayed it in over a year and it's my daily driver even in the winter... Would this have something to do with it??? :idea :nervous:

The clay bar will help a lot if you havent used it in a year. BTW, is this is the kind of look you are going for?

My routine is Wash, clay and Meg's #80 followed by #7 and NXT (x2).

I wind up with a swirl free, "wet paint" look, red.

I have a red RX8. I tried everything fron Zymol Concours down. The best I have found is Men. polish PO85RD (which they don't make anymore), Red M. Glaze X 2 Then Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax X 3 with each coat 24 hours apart. JMHO and a lot of wasted dollars trying other products!
