How can I be sure my pads are clean?

I am planning a detail tomorrow but wondering how I can be certian my buffing pads are perfectly clean with no hidden debris in them that can scratch the paint? When I Was done with them last time I rinsed them out and turned them working side facing down resting on some cups to airdry. I then put them in Ziploc's. The reason I ask is if I look REALLY hard I can see some tiny crescent shaped swirls in my paint on one section from the last ttime I used them. Probably from the PC and the pad may have had something on it although I just pulled it from a sealed bag before using it.

Thanks,

Joe

Simple .. unless you buy new ones each time you detail the car, you cant.

I wash mine out with warm water and liquid soap, leaving them in the laundry room to dry.

I've never induced any scratches or swirls and my pads are on 10+ cars each.

Draw your own conclusions.
