Hoses

COME AT ME BRO
Just curious - what hoses are you guys using to do washes with? Cheap-o garden hoses?

I'm now using a Craftsman rubber hose, and I gotta say it's pretty nice compared to the Wal-Mart specials I used to buy. And it has a lifetime (or as long as Sears is still around) warranty. :bigups

I have a section of crappy hose and a section of good black rubber hose I picked up at a garage sale. The crappy section is so crappy that I get angry everytime I use it. lol It really seems silly as I sit here and type because it is such an easy fix.

I have used the Craftsman black rubber hose that is hexagon shaped, what a nice hose. Ace Hardware has some really nice looking industrial grade hoses too at a decent price.

I purchased a 100ft hose from Griots Garage 10 years ago pricey hose $$. It recently failed. I contacted customer support, sent them a picture of the failure. They sent me a replacement hose. So 1st of all 10 year on a hose in Az is good, 2nd the lifetime warranty offered by Griots paid off.

I bought a 100' GoodYear red rubber hose at Costco a few years back and it has lasted me a few years.... but I'm thinking it's about time to look at replacing it. Part of the problem is I leave it out during the winter on a reel when I should put it away in the barn.

Meh. It's just a hose, no big deal really.

:( I was hoping we would be seeing photos of fishnet hoses or something.... Well I guess that could push the limits of the family friendly atmosphere we enjoy here at DC. ;)

I've got 4 or 5 water hoses that are either hooked up or waiting to be hooked up around the house. I think the one I've been using in the back is a Swan Supplex hose. I've also got a Gilmour Flexogen and at least a couple of others which I don't recall the brand. I've thought to make it out on Black Friday for a special on the Craftsman lifetime hose, but I've done more thinkin' 'bout it than doin' it.

i have a 50 foot craftsman and a 100 foot craftsman lifetime replacement hose... they are the best hoses ive used...hardly ever kink.. and if anything ever goes wrong i get to take it back and get a new one! cant beat that!

I bought two, no kink hoses from walmart. Both kink like mad. I threw one in the trash. I cannot stand kinky hose. (though some may beg to differ :) )

I have a Craftsman hose from Sears and I also bought a 110 foot hose from Sams club. I have had both of these hoses for atleast 8 years. One of them stays outside all year around and has never failed yet.

My 100' Craftsman black rubber hose has been dragged from Washington, DC to Boulder, CO to Binghamton, NY to FL over the last sixteen years. It's always hanging on the side of the house... in every season, every climate. The thing will not die. Beefy brass fittings, no sign of wear, never kinks.

The only other thing I know about hoses: "NO KINK" = always kinked.

I prefer the crappy hose that leaks out of the faucet area, hose to hose connection and then finally at the nozzle connection. Then to add to that I bought a new nozzle at Wal-mart looked pretty nice $8 or so. I dropped it like 2 ft. onto the concrete and it broke - lol. Get what you pay for I guess.

Sounds like a need to buy a craftsman hose and who knows what brand of nozzle (everyone I buy seems to be a P.O.S.)

:howdy I know...I know...

Which nozzle to buy. :D Buy a Bon Aire Ultimate Nozzle - Maybe some of the vendors carry it. I bought mine from Northern Tool. Don't remember how many years I've been using it (>5). I've bounced it off the concrete so many times...it still looks and works great. Got a Gilmour quick release/change adapter on it and switch between it and my foam gun. If that isn't the perfect setup I don't know what is. :)

Low's has a pro grade hose that is not supposed to kink, black color and great heavy duty ends. Its around 50 bucks and seems to get the job done here.:inspector:

I need a couple of hoses. Both of mine sit outside all year and have worn threads and the outer casing cracked in several spots. I really should get around to getting new ones.

I've got a Swan 50' hose, 3 years running, that hasn't had any issues. I've seen some Swan ones that aren't as good but mine seems to be a better type. I've tried a bunch of different nozzles too but I keep coming back to brass twist nozzle.

(2) 100' Craftsman Rubber Hose, nickel plated brass, crush proof fittings. I bought two in 1983 and keep them on a reel in the garage. Best garden hose investment I have ever made.

The only disadvantage is the weight. It's one heavy hose!
