As I get older - my patience for tools and such that don`t work like they are supposed to gets less and less. I`m done trying to save a buck only to find out six months later I have to shell out more cash to buy the same exact thing again because the first one broke, or leaks, or came apart, or whatever. You only pay for quality once as they say.
Having said that, a HUGE pet peeve of mine has been the crappy quality plastic hose reels that you find at the big box stores. I must have bought six of them (AT LEAST) in the past several years and I have yet to find one I`m even remotely happy with or one that doesn`t start leaking after a few months.
So I bit the bullet and ordered one of these:

Made in America, 10 year warranty, aluminum alloy & brass construction, as well as a cam-lever break type mechanism to prevent the hose from totally unraveling off the spool when you give it a good yank.
I won`t be using it for a while - since it`s 27 degrees right now in CT - but I`m thinking this will finally be one less thing I need to deal with come washing season.
