Homemade QEW

Has anyone ever tried making a QEW concoction with car wash soap and water? Maybe add a little QD or WAUD? Isn't the principle the same between QEW and car wash soap - to encapsulate the dirt so it can be hosed or wiped away? Is QEW just car wash soap on steroids?



I know - it seems like you'd be leaving some soap on the paint, but is that any harsher than QEW? Would it streak? Maybe follow up with a QD to eliminate streaking? Any thoughts?
 
At one point, last winter, I ran out of QEW, so I mixed a capful of regular carwash (Eagle One Wet, I think) in a bucket and proceeded as I would with QEW.



I found that it left quite a lot of film on the car and I needed to go over the entire vehicle with QD spray after washing.



I promptlhy bought another gallon of QEW so my problem has been solved for a while! (my first gallon lasted well over a year)...
 
I tried it, didn't work. Had the film problem. A gallon lasts forever, well worth the $. I've been doing QEW washes with a few shots of Mother's Showtime mixed in and it's been great !!! :xyxthumbs
