Homelink programming

COME AT ME BRO
I bought a Homelink transmitter to install in my truck. It supposedly supports rolling code and is a universal transmitter, but I cant get it to work with my door openers. I know this may be a long shot, but has anyone encountered this problem and maybe has a fix?

FYI, the doors/openers are Wayne Dalton, and all of them are the same model.

Any help would be appreciated.

Both our Homelink transmitters in the Envoy and GP had no problems with our new Genie garage door opener. I think the webite manual said it may take two or three times of pressing the button on the main unit and the Home Link unit.

If your opener uses the rolling code system, you will need to use the training button on the opener unit itself in order to program the Homelink.

Here's how it worked in mine... hold the transmitter button and the desired Homelink button until the light flashes to indicate that it is programmed. Try the Homelink. If it flashes fast, then you have a rolling code. Push the training button on your garage door opener (located on the opener unit itself, not the transmitter), and then hold the Homelink button in again until the light flashes again. Now it should work.

That's kinda the condensed version, without looking at my actual manual.

Just for clarification, here's what I did:

Pushed the program button on the opener unit
Pressed and held the homelink transmitter button

Then, nothing happens. The led on the opener is supposed to flash when it "learns" the remote code. The same thing on all three doors.

FWIW, the two outside buttons on the Homelink pad flash when pressed, the middle button stay solidly lit.

I want to make sure I can get it to work before I install it in the vehicle (cutting the head liner & such).

P.S. thanks for the responses so far. :)

Jared, A few things that might help.

If you have multiple program buttons on the your universal remote, try another one.

Replace the battery in your remote. If it's not picking up a signal, you might have a bad battery.

I just replaced my outside keypad and had to reprogram my remotes, and it took my opener about 2 minutes to pick up a signal and flash.
