Hollander UV2 Protectant

I picked up a small bottle of this product yesterday. It reminds me of Vinylex. The odor is nearly identical.

Has anyone sampled this before?

I tried a small amount on the dashboard which was dusty. It did a nice job. The product seems thicker than Vinylex and has good coverage. i'd say it's just slighty glossier than Vinylex. The bottle says "super high gloss" but I don't think I'd agree with that.

You know what's interesting about all that stuff? All of it can be purchased in bulk wholesale, repackaged, and sold at retail. Looks like they've got someone who is good at graphic design and marketing products to the style-conscious market.

I find it intersting that a 32oz spray bottle is 4.99, but a gallon is 32.99. 4 x 32oz bottles = 1 gallon but at a 13 dollar savings.

I bought an 8oz bottle. It was a few dollars.

I had a 2nd look at the treated dash today. It seems to give more uniform coverage than Vinylex but is glossier. Overall, it really spunked up a tired looking dashboard in my daily driver...it's been a long winter.

So do i purchase a bottle and test it out tom p. or no, I am used to using 303 Protectant, this is cheaper, but did you like it just as much or nah?

EDIT: Also this says it contains silicones, i am not sure, but does 303 contain silicones? Anyone?

Yeah, I didn't catch that "silicone" warning 'til I got home. I don't know how much of a concern it is.

I haven't used 303 for about 15 years and don't recall how glossy it was. This product certainly is glossy but not like Armor All. It really looks quite nice on the sections I did.

The stuff is inexpensive...why not get a small bottle and see if you like it?

I used uv2 for years. I first bought a small bottle, and liked it so much that I bought a gallon refill. It is so much superior to armorall that I would hesitate to compare them. When I used up that gallon, I couldn't find any more.

The store I bought it from went out of business, and their supplier quit carrying it. I haven't seen it in any of the other local stores, either. I thought it was one of those good products that went off the market. Guess I'll have to order some online now.

Besides being great for my cars interior, I liked to use it on my seat belt straps. Seat belts retract great when they are kept smooth and pliable with uv2.

$33 for a gallon, though? The one I bought was about $15. But that was about 8 years ago.
