Hi everyone!

I've lurked the site for a long time (also registered several years ago but haven't posted much).

Anyway, I need someone's help. I've searched all over to find a specific scratch filling guide but I can't find it. My brother put a scratch in his car and I wanted to send him the article. It's kind of a shot in the dark but it was a black Porsche in the guide, a boxter I think. The scratch was on the front or rear fender. The process was pretty much the same as a lot of other ones on the net but I thought this one was better than the others. Anyone know what article I'm talking about? Know where it is? I was almost positive it was on autopia. I've tried just about every permutation of searches with site:autopia.org on google but can't find it. Thanks so much if you can find it! If not, no worries.

Welcome back!

I would look in the Guide to Detailing sub-forum or posts my user name Picus.

I think I remember that thread? You could always post pictures of the scratch and we could walk you though things...

Thanks! I searched through the threads started by you but I didn't see anything. He's down in Portland so I can't grab a pic unfortunately.

Thanks as well! I asked him if the scratch went through to the metal and he said yes. So this will require some filling too. I'm thinking: get touch up paint, test in area to see if it matches, slowly over the course of hours/days fill scratch (without using huge brush in TU paint bottle, wet sand with 2000-3000 grit, then I can loan him some Sonus polishes and start least aggressive and step up if needed. Finally wax with P21s and finish off with Klasse AIO. Thoughts?

As its been asked for several times I'm working on a 'polishing' guide for the "Removal of ..." section (watch that space)
