Hitachi rotary with pc backing plate

My Hitachi rotary arrived today and it came with it's own backing plate that I believe is 7 inches. Is there any OTC option that I can use to make my LC pads work or will I have to order a different backing plate online.

Yeah that's the one I've seen in my searches...I also read about having a shop machine the thread to a different size to accomodate the PC backing plate or something like that. Anybody know what I'm talking about and can help out?
 
if you dont want to order online you may need take the time to find out where there are a paint and body supplier store there are diff brands for example 3m,mirca,meguiars of bp try which one they have or whichever one you like but if you do not mind ordering online then the one suggested up above is fine....



also i think this is what your looking for adapter

this adapter will screw on to your new rotary backing plate and will allow you to use this rotary backing plate to fit your pc now you can have one bp no need for two....



"Note" that some members have had issue with this adapter mainly it was not tight enough or not check for snug fit...so while polishing the bp would back it self off the adapter and send the bp flying off and you pushing the adapter to the panel/paint...just make sure it tight on and check frequent or you may use some thread lock blue....



imho dont use the adapter just buy specific bp for the tool your using pc,rotary...another highly recommended suggestion is edge pads....
