High mileage BMWs

I'm still looking to get rid of my truck. After getting back from Xpel training, I HAVE to free up some cash to buy my start up equipment. +-$8000 :bigscream :bigscream As of last week I'm also 100% on my own so I'm driving to peoples houses 3-4 days a week and my two wholesale accounts the rest. I found a couple higher mileage 80k-110k 3 series (96-98) for what I think is a very good price. I know BMWs are built solid, but are they risky getting up into that mileage? I found a 318 REAL cheap but I heard the 4 bangers are something to stay away from. I may settle for a Jetta or go really cheap and just get a Taurus. I had a SHO and can tear one apart with my eyes closed, a big trunk is nice to have too. Let me know what you think, I want to make a decision in a few weeks. Unfortunatly I live in an area that NOBODY has imports so I have nobody else to ask.

If you are looking for cheap, dependable transportation, go with the Taurus, but be sure it has the base 3.0 engine. The 3.8 and the DOHC motors will eat your wallet for breakfast. I would think the high mileage BMW would, too.

If it were me, I'd probably try to find a GM with the 3800 V-6 and drive it until it fell in.
