I have a 2 month old Subaru TS in dark blue. Unfortunally the other day when I washed it I noticed a 8" long scratch in the front passender side door. The scratch can be felt with the fingernail and thus probably can't be buffed out safely (don't want to cause a different coloured spot due to too thin a clear). The scratch also looks white in colour.
I belive that scratch did not make it down to the paint but most of the way through the clear coat.
I tried using 2 applications of Scratch-X (applied liberally and rubbed untill it basically dissapeared) and this managed to take out "most" of the whiteness in the scratch. I didn't dare take too much more clear off the car and so I then switched to TW scratch and swirl remover (didn't feel abrasive to me)... I worked this in well like the scratch-X. Finally I gave it a quick coat of meg #7 and topped it all off with some s100.
The scratch is no longer visiable under "normal" lights (light bulb) but under halogen and sunlight can be seen. Is there anything else I could have done to try and hide the scratch a bit better?
