Hi Temp HC great and easy oxidation remover

A buddy of mine asked me to detail his '97 Ford Ranger before he sold it. He told me he hadn't waxed it in years.

He didn't want to pay for a full paint restoration (swirl removal, paint correction, etc). ... so I just went at it with Hi Temp HC leveler, my rotary and a green Edge light cutting pad at about 1200rpm. It cut through the oxidation and dullness, restored the paint color and brightness, and was LSP ready in one step.

The Hi Temp levelers are a great value, user friendly and effective.

Here are a few quick before/after photos :

From dull/oxidized to bright and shiny.

Anybody notice the Chevy wheels on a Ford Ranger???

Yeah I want to try it as well, and the price is right too. Did you get any dusting? It claims it won't dust.

It only dusts if you work it too long or if the pad gets bogged down.

Agree, and even then the dusting is minimal. Clean your pad every panel or two and the dusting is not bad. Many other heavy cut products dust worse.

Ah, thanks for posting this. I recommend H-T stuff a lot but never tried it on any oxidation, good to know it works well for that.

I'm not sure if the photos do it justice, but in-person the paint looked at least 5 years newer after I was done.

Can't speak for the other Hi Temp levelers ... but the HC was effective at oxidation removal for me on this vehicle.
