As the topic states. I'm sure it would depend on the type of products you use but I just want to get an idea on how frequently you guys clean the paint.

I only clean the paint on the first time washing it or when it needs it say an older oxidize paint. Once cleaned and properly maintained I see no need for cleaning again.

Now if swirls pop up that is a different situation which I attack accordingly.

GenX, if I didn't use any polymer sealants on my cars, then yes, I would polish every time before waxing. On a monthly basis, I would lay down a coat of Meguiar's Hand Polish or #7 and then follow that up with P21S Carnauba or Pinnacle Souveran. Maybe 1-2 times a year, I would use something that had cleaning properties (like 3M SMR or Meguiar's DACP) as the first step before doing my usual polish + carnauba routine.

Hello my name is Keenan Walker of Coastal Clean Auto Detailing. I joined this forum because i love learning about and helping people out with auto cosmetics. I do interior, exterior, cars, boats, trucks, rvs, and motorcycles, with commercial vehicles blending into the mix. I also do restoration work with the exception of boats, i try to keep restoring pointed towards road vehicles. I look forward to learning from the wise and helping people out with issues i have come by in my career of auto detailing (which has been a few haha).
Cheers Keenan
