Millennium Detailing
hey guys got a question hopefully you have an answer to this. I have a customer that has a car that has a lot of exterior chromed plastis parts. But this car has been neglected a little so it has created lots of water marks on this particular pieces and make me look like the job is not done. I have tried everything i can think of. I dont want to use anything that is meant for chrome metal in case of discoloration since like i said this is plastic. Any ideas on how to get rid of these pesky spots. :wha

Try a light polish.

Something along the lines of Klasse AIO, Clearkote's Vanilla Moose, Poorboy's PwC or SSR1. Those are light enough to not really hurt anything.

:yeah I've had success with the aforementioned AIO. I'm sure vinegar will do the trick as well. The good people of Detail City already have it covered. :bigups

I got the same problem and its bad, because I went a year without washing my truck. I've tried CLR, PB PwC and SSR1, and claying it in the past, but with minimal results. I just got some PBs PP and I can try some vinegar, but I have my doubts. Anything else? It didn't bother me to much since it was just my center cap before. Now its my grille and side molding too. Here are some pics of the center caps. I just quickly washed them on the truck normally I take them off, but they don't come a whole lot cleaner them what you see.

ProPolish worked well on my Black truck when I had water spots from almost 6 months of lawn sprinklers spraying the side of truck. This included all the stainless steele and chrome on my truck. I was amazed and very pleased.

Hope you have the same results as I did, Dozerboy.

This is what I would do.

- Wear gloves.

- Work on one cap at a time.

- Spray it down with Poorboy's Spray and Rinse.

- Immediately take a very mild polish like the Poorboy-s PwC you already have and gently polish the surface with it.

- Rinse, dry and wipe off any remaining polish.

If that doesn't have any affect then nothing is going to be able to bring them back.

Well I had time to clean them up good today. I took the caps apart with the help of a dermal tool since there a PIA to clean with the fake black lugnuts on the caps. That helped a bit I used a bucket of water/dawn, soaked them a lot, and cleaned them with a tooth brush. Looked better then ever, but still had a lot of spots. Clay help a little more, but PP really did it. I haven't done anything else on the truck, but the caps where the worse so I think that thats the way to go. Can't wait to do the rest of the truck and the Lexan bed cover.

First pic is a clean and clayed cap and the last 2 are comparing that with one that has been hit with PP.
:bigups PP

Now what should I use to wax them I have PB's EX and WS?

I knew that the PP would do the trick...also some 0000 steel wool would have been a good start...seal those babies up now
