Hey guys,

New guy so be gentle.

I do top-end detailing and have been for 8 years now, I'm based in Melbourne which is probably a little far away from you guys, I guess that's good for the guys here worried about competition.

I do mostly refinishing, especially black or very dark coloured cars for panel shops and car washes that find it hard to get a good detailer to work on the customers cars they have, there aren't many tradesmen around here with my skill level.

Here's an example of the work I do:

I love my job and it pays OK. I need a little more, I do about 3 or 4 jobs a week

I find down here people don't know what detailing is and that makes getting work much harder.

Damian.

what is your examle of work??

a mirror finish picture?......what type of car is this and what did you do to it?

for instance this could be just a mercedez maybach with a wash or a subaru with a wetsand.

and welcome :dance

Welcome. :welcome

Confidence, or cocky? Haha.

BTW, there looks to be some swirling below the flash in the paint. Impressive none the less, especially on a black car.

and a lil orange peeled.

Welcome! Nice to have some fresh energy as well as quite a few years of business experiences under the belt up (or down?!) here in the pro board. It would be great to see some more of your work. What product lines are you accustomed to using? When you say, "refinishing" are you going as far as wetsanding in your routines?

Damian-welcome to Autopia! :wavey

If your fellow Aussies don't really know what detailing is, that gives you a great opportunity to educate them and make them your customers. :)
