Is there any way someone can search the membership lists to find another Autopian in the same city? If not, could/should that be a function available to the community?



The reason I ask is that today I was asked to do a detail, but for medical reasons, could not. The enquirer then asked for someone else local and I found I could not find anyone (there is a vague recollection of some "user handles" but I cannot remember if they are specifically local.

If something like that is possible, I imagine it would be more along the lines of a listing by state,( for those who choose to give their state/country) and if it were to be made , it would come after the newest vBulletin upgrade. I' ll let David chime in on any more specifics.

Speaking off, have you seen the version that offtopic.com is running now? Access smilies from the quick reply box, replies do not require the page to reload, edits take place in the spot on the thread the post is (no separate pages) and when you mouse over the thread icon, if you posted in the thread, it tells you how many times you posted in that thread!

I have also wondered about this. It would be neat to find all the members in the state for organizing a meet. You could make sure that all the members in the area were aware of the planned event.
