Okay, I just got my UDM in the mail the other day along with:

-Menzerna I.P

-Menzerna Final Polish

-Menzena Glaze

Pads:

-CCS Yellow cutting

-CCS White polishing

-CCS Black finessing

-Along with 5 wolfgang orange polishing pads, and the white one that came with the UDM.

I tested a spot on my hood, and i think it worked really well. Tell me if my process can be shortened to achieve the same results or anything i can do to better it.

-I.P. w/ CCS yellow, spread on speed 3, then moved to speed 5 to break it down

-F.P. w/ CCS white, along with the smaller white one for the curvy spots, spread on 3, then 5 again

-Glaze w/ CCS black, wasnt quite sure how to do this one???

Would this process be good for doing the whole car?? I cant think of anything else to ask, so thanks much for anything you can send my way!

Alex

Well, if you think it worked well, then why change anything?

If I were to do it, I would work both polishes on 6. You need every ounce of power you can get from the UDM.

It did that the first time i had it on 6, but after my first day it went away. Its brand new that's way it has that smell. But if it continues to do this say like your 4 or 5 time then call where you got it from and ask them if they know about your problem of burning smell is. When you use your UDM to spread turn it to #2 and then jump it to #6 for max power for remove of swirls. But you should aways start with a least aggressive pad first and check your work to see how it did before starting with a yellow pad. I don't know want your doing (removing swirls, or trying to remove scratches)....hope this helps you Alex.......

Well, i have some bad news. I was on my front driver side QP, on #6 setting, and the UDM smoked out and turned off. wont turn back on. GREAT! now i have a 1/4 polished car!!! Gah!

Sorry to hear that, wish i was near by to help out. Call the place where you got it from for a replacement one and also where are you at (city and state) and maybe a fellow autopian can help out. Hope everything works out for you...

i rarely use a yellow pad...i've found that it usually makes more work (too much marring) later on to polish out the left overs. i'd rather do two rounds with an orange than one yellow...of course, this is dependent on the hardness of the clear.
