Here I go, my first picture posting thread, white '92 Probe

This is my 1992 oxford white Ford Probe LX. I know I have a long way to go to reaching perfection, but I just took these pictures and I decided to share them. Everything I'm about to list is applied by hand, and I have to wash the car without a hose.

- Meguiar's ScratchX

- Meg's PlastiX

- Meg's Gold Class Endurance tire gel(applied a few washes ago, tires and wheels getting changed soon)

- Tarminator

- Eagle One Wet wash

- EO A2Z Tire and Wheel Cleaner

- Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss paste wax - one layer applied yesterday

- S100 paste wax applied an hour ago

- Turtle Wax Ultra Detailer used before and after the S100

I haven't used the ScratchX very much yet, and it will be quite obvious due to the swirl marks on the hood. :(

Gotta love that orange peel. I know the tires and wheel wells need attention. :p

I have a 1993 SHO in Oxford White. Don't worry, its pretty easy to make shine.

Also, I'm sure the Probe is the same, but if it helps, Oxford White was single stage paint. It's a really hard paint.

Here's a reflection shot of mine. It was taken in the early afternoon under a tent.

White isn't nearly as bad as some folks seem to think it is. I have managed to make white look rather nice on the few occasions I've detailed it. Here's an 03 Pontiac Aztek (yeah, yeah, make jokes) I did for a customer:

Just polished with DACP, and laid down Meg's #20 on it.

Hey, another SHO owner!

Have you been to www.shoforum.com ?

If not you should, lots of great info and people there, been there since 2001.

Mine's a 1995 Red MTX, one of 2,036 made in '95, and only 57,000 miles. Shines Like a New dime.

:xyxthumbs

Pin - Nice job, always liked the Probes. With a little work you'll have that paint smooth and swirl free. Welcome to the obsession!

Yeah, I don't post too often, but i've read the site for about three years. I have the same name there. I post a lot more on a local SHO board, www.shopower.com

Wow, I just verified that my paint has no clear coat. I might have to adjust my strategy for dealing with these scratches. Hmm..thanks for the heads up.
