Here's what I've got:

S100 Polish

S100 Carnuba Wax

Meguiar's Hand Glaze #7

Meguiar's 2.0 swirl remover

Meguiar's Final Detail gallon

Meguiar's Gold Class w/ swirl remover.

What I've done in the past myself: S100 Polish, S100 Wax, FD, using that turtle wax $20 buffer.

After talking to some people, they said that the buffer wasn't good and I Shouldn't use it anymore, and that instead, I Should get the real deal (Whatever that might be).

At any rate, I'll be doing the next detail by hand.

Suggestion from a friend was to do:

1. S100 Polish

2. GOLD CLASS (non swirl remover one)

3. Meg's #7 glaze

4. Meg's FD

Now I've got swirls, so I was gonna do this:

1. Meg's 2.0 swirl remover

2. Gold Class w/ swirl remover

3. Meg's #7 glaze

4. Megs' FD

I've never used these meg's products. I just got them today.

What do you think I should do with what i've got, and considering it'll be all by hand, and on a black car?

Thanks!

I don't think you should "stop using" the TW buffer, it's just "not as good" as the PC...

What are these two Gold Class products you keep mentioning? Exact names please, I'm not sure what you're referring to. If they're the normal Gold Class waxes, you'll want to use them AFTER #7.

How bad are your swirls? Unless they're only very light, you'll need a stronger polish than anything you have now.

You're not going to use that S100 wax you bought? ;)

I would suggest like 4DSC to get something stronger if you have moderate swirls (anything that is apparant on a black car that can be normally viewed, very light swirls that #9 can handle would be hard to find, only findable in certain angles and lighting.)

I think the two Gold Class products being discussed is the old discontinued Gold Class Scratch and Swirl Remover. I saw it 2, maybe 3 years ago, but now I don't see it anymore. The second product should be the gold class wax.

As with Brian (4DSC) Why not use S100 wax?

Have you ever clayed you're finish? I recommend clay magic or mother's. On a car that is really contaminated, I find that clay will provide a more even shine, and a much clearer reflection.

Here is what I recommend

1. Wash with regular car wash soap

2. Clay with Mother's or Clay Magic

3. Polish (Meguiar's #83, Meguiars #9, Meguiars #82, 3M PI III line)

4. Meguiar's #7

5. S100 wax every 2- 4 weeks, or anytime in between then for more shine.

6. Mantain with washes and Meguiar's FD QD's.

The TW buffer as good as the buffers we us as stated by Brian. (PC is our favorite for an entry level buffer, moving up to he Makita 9227C or DeWalt W849 for advanced users and professionals.)

I recommend the PC bcause it will really make you're black car stand out witht he right pads and polishes. Then a hand rub down with #7, then s100. That finish will be looking deep and wet.

Carnauba tend to provide the deep wet look but lack durability.

A good polymer (Klasse and Zaino) have their polymer high shine and reflectivity look but lack depth and that carnauba shine, but have outstanding durability (think 6 months or so.)

A carnauba look a like product will provide a little more protection than a carnauba but less than a full polymer (I give it 4-6 weeks tops. Blackfire, Platinum, and EX, EX is currently being tested, couldn't test out Platinum because of rain.)

Thanks for the tips guys. I apologize for not replying earlier! I thought I was suscribed to the thread :(

Tomorrow I'm planning on getting a PC 7424 :) What pads should I buy?

Ok here is what Im gonna do, tell me what you think:

Dawn wash

Clay

Meg's #9 swirl 2.0

Meg's Gold Wax

Meg's hand glaze

and maybe S100 carnuba wax on top

That sounds good?

Now what pads should I use for each of the steps, and what to use to remove each?

Thanks!
