Help...Sunroof border/trim....

When looking at my roof from the outside, the trim that surrounds the sunroof appears to be white (greyish) in color. Obviously discolored from years of wax, etc. This is extremely frustrating and I want it to be black again!!! Short of replacing it, if that's even possible, what is the best product to use for this. I'm not sure if peanut butter is the answer, as this liner is a combination of a felt-like material and plastic, i guess. PB could get messy.

I'm hoping some sort of cleaner would be an easy fix....but which?

Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer

I have used both for the sun-roof weather stripping and they work great.

That area definitely takes a beating from direct sunlight.

Also 303 Protectant has UV blockers in it and might be worth a try.

I second the Meguiars suggestion, I've had successfull results with it.

You may also consider using a boars hair brush soaked in the protectant to agitate the wax and dirt. Be careful not to scratch the paint! Use a soft rag to wipe off the dirt/protectant and then reapply the protectant and wipe off excess. Most important suggestion.....once you've cleaned it be sure to maintain it.

You can also use a QD for cleaning purposes before applying the protectant.
