I just tried to switch the backing plate on my PC from the 6" to a 4" backing plate. The problem I am having is I cannot get the backing plate off. I used the wrench and tried to turn the backing plate in a counter clock wise manner and the darn thing won't budge. Am I doing something wrong and what posssible solutions are there?

You are using the wrench to hold the spindle of the machine and then turning the backing plate by hand, correct?

That is what I am trying to do but no luck.

Assuming that your wrench is firmly on the spindle's hexagonal shaft, you just need to apply more force. Seems funny that it's on there so firmly though...I'm also assuming you're turning it the correct direction ;)

Finally got it off with the help of a friend. It was on very tight and the threads had rust un them; guess the extra force helped.

Thanks

In the future if it happens again you might want to try a standard wrench ( I think it's a 9/16) because it can grab a little better and feels better in your hand.
