Just got my UDM and here I am trying to make the best of a bad situation and learn a thing or two. This is a 92 325I that has some seriously scratched paint. So I'm just trying to make the best of it and get to know my UDM. As you can see in the pics of the trunk this is the shape of it and pretty much any horizontal surface everything else just is not as bad but never the less its not good either.
This is what I've done so far and was wondering if I can get it any better results or just be happy with what I have. The car was washed and the paint was fairly clean from previous hand polishing/waxing. My main objective is to get rid of some of the scratches.
I'm using an orange pad with Finesse (but also have polishing compound and rubbing). What else would you use? Or should I just be happy with what I have? I'm not expecting a showroom finish but I would like to see just how good it can be.
I tried to fill in the big scratches with a paint pen but most of the paint didn't want to stay put while wet sanding with 2k grit.
No wax has been applied yet and I do have a some Klasse AIO and a cabinet full of your automotive brand waxes/cleaners and the yellow, white and blue pad.
Comments? Recommendations? Thx! The pics don't really show the small scratches that can only be seen in the right light and angle.
