Help, I can't find pads for my old B&D orbital!

I originally posted this on the Detailing Univ. forum, but didn't get any help. My father-in-law gave me his 8" Random Orbital Polisher and I can't find any pads to use with it. It has a disc with about 3/8" of spongy rubber. I don't think I can take the disc off. The only thing I can think of doing is putting velcro on the disc so I can use the velcro backed pads. Will this work?

Hmmmmmm....

I would prefer a more foam backing....my old Sears was like that...

I glued a piece of foam on to the perment pad and then bought some pads from Pep boys etc to go over it.

If you can get the pad head off maybe you can NORM ABRAMS a way to install the PC velcro head onto it...

Sounds like a fun handy man project.

Good Luck

You need an 8 inch bonnet with elastic around the edges, I have seen the foam ones at AutoZone and WalMart and of course any paint supply store would carry the 3M kind.

Walmart K-mart Target they all have it including Sears but here is the B&D 800 number for all the info you need...............1800 231 9786 or 1800 544 6986 or 1800 762 6672

since they haven't made it in a while, they couldn't help. Will Walmart/Target/etc have decent pads? Or should I try to find a way to use CMA's pads with it?
