Help Dull Paint

The other day I began to attack some light scratches on an 05 RL. It looked like someone brushed up against the back bumper and their paint just rolled off onto the RL's bumper. Well I got most of the scratched off but stoped due to the fact that the paint is now dull in the spot where the scratch was. I used a little rubbing compound. What product will fix the dull in the paint.

:faint: Rubbing compound. :soscared: Ouch! Always start with the least abrasive polish/cleaner and work your way up if necessary. Rubbing compound is very harsh. :(

Is there any product that works best? I will be doing it by hand if it is possible.

Meguiars Scratch X is just perfect for that sort of marring you now have. It doesn't leave scratches that you have to deal with later. However it does take time and patience. I'd try some Scratch X now, followed by a glaze and wax. Make sure you use a clean, high quality applicator so you don't introduce more scratches to the paint surface.

Good luck and :welcome to Autopia!

I would suggest Meguiar's #80 or Mother's Power Polish by hand. Fold up a terry cloth in quarters, and use with moderate pressure in back and forth strokes. That should take the haze out, then follow up with the sealant or wax of your choice.
