Help:Detailing ss urethane red paint

i am having my dad's 1984 GMC pickup painted this month and i have a few questions:

1. How long should I wait before i can safely wax?

2. Can I use ONR for weekly/bi-weekely washing? Or should I stick with traditional car wash soap?

3. What is a good gentle car wash soap?

4. I want to absoultely minimize polishing on this brand new paint. I already use a 2 bucket method and use MF for dryig.

I plan to wax in April w/845, Late August w/476 and in late November w/ 476.

If necessary, can I use Poli-Seal or 1z Paint Polish to clean up the paint before applying wax?

I have read that Megs 7 is good for ss paint?

Any other advice for ss paint?

Thanks

Having it painted in single stage eh? Sounds cool and I hope you post pics!

1. Follow the directions of the paint you use. No doubt the manufacturer will list it directly on the paint. If the shop is able to bake the car in any capacity, you might have to wait as little as a month, but as much as 3 for the urethane to gas out completely.

2. Yes / if you want.

3. Meg's Gold Class or NXT2.0 (if you're looking for over the counter), but just about anything formulated for cars.

4. good.

Collinite sounds like a good idea.

Sure, but you'll likely need to give it a light claying.

Meg's Glaze is made to visually minimize pain defects temporarily. Its not bad for single stage by any means, but won't add a benefit other than visually.

Only advice is just like any car: take care of it. The hardner that is added will help protect it, but overall, you'll want to keep a quality sealant/wax on it often to help it last as long as possible.

Hope this helps :)
