If you take the time to do your research online, ask a ton of questions, watch some videos you can learn a lot.

Be sure to practice on your car as much as possible, you won't need a school.

And, be PATIENT!!!

I agree detailing is not rocket science.
You can learn by reading and practice it sounds to me like you want to learn everything right away it will require so time, be patient.
Their are web sites that have tons of info on how to do a detail.

ALL OF THE ABOVE..

If ya know someone at a high end body shop they also might be of some help. Get a hood, door, or whatever and practice practice practice, and use good products.:surrender :howdy

Detailing takes patience and practice. Once you get used to the equipment and chemicals and how they interact you will start to learn on your own. Again you can search here ask questions, post pictures that you may have issues on and someone will respond. In addition the money you save from a detailing school could be used to purchase products.

There isn't a degree for detailing as far as I know. There are some organizations that love to take your money to teach you some fairly advanced things, but you have to go in with a fundamental knowledge of the industry first. You can learn important things like touch up paint, paintless dent removal, window tinting, and other things like that from local shops which add a lot of value to your detailing business.

The only universtity for detailers is the University of Hard Knocks, unfortunately. There are a few of us who have put together guides and videos on how to detail properly, but that is pretty much all there is out there short of just getting in and getting it done.

thanks guys i will do that i just know basics like buffing and polishing wax but i will take everyone advice and ive been watching a ton of videos and reading thanks again

FWIW, spend your "training" budget on an Associate's Degree in Business at your local community college. Detailing is a business. The more you know about accounting, marketing, business law, written and spoken communications, etc., the more successful your business will be. (Plus, the skills will be transferrable to almost any other for-profit activity that you can imagine.)

As far as acquiring detailing skill, you cannot buy better training than this (it's free too!):

Auto Detailing Facts, auto detailing Tips, How to detailing Guides, how to polish, how to wax, DIY detailing, do it yourself guides

Read every word... twice. Buy equipment and chemicals sparingly until you know for sure what you need.

Best of luck! Say "Hi" to Snorkel Bob for me!
