HELP...Boat from hell!!

My first post here but I am not new to the detailing scene. I've been detailing for profit for four years now and now need some help. This is my first boat, and maybe my last after this...this thing is very bad. I have tried everything under the sun on this thing and cant seem to get the brown ring around the bottom off. I have tried every degreaser I own( about 10 of them), all 1:1 to no avail. Then I used my PC with AIO and when that did not work, I went to OC and still no results. I've clayed and that was the only thing that made any difference. Just a little though. I am in rush right now and have about six more hours to do this. Any suggestions would be welcome. I can not seem to upload pics. It says they are to big and I dont have time to figure it out.



I am about to call this guy up and tell him that there is nothing I can do for this thing but to set it on fire or sink it to the bottom of the lake. I dont want to do this because he has a fleet of exotics that are next if I do a good job on this. Almost forgot. I told him 140 for this and dont know if that was reasonable. That was before I saw the thing and even when I did, I thought my AIO would take care of it no prob. Sorry for the rushed post but have to get back to work

The problem is degreasers are great for removing petroleum based stains but, that is not what you are looking at here. You need something specifically for the task. Have you checked out local marine supply stores?



I haven't done a boat in years but, here are a couple of products available from West Marine specifically for cleaning boat hulls. They specifically mention boat scum which is most likely what you are referring to as the brown ring.

Whatever you use, make sure it is compatible with whatever the hull is made of or coated with. West Marine is very helpful and should be able to point you in the right direction.

Sounds like you need a more abrasive compound, wool pad, and rotary action! When I did boats, we never used anything but rotaries and wool pads. Gel coat is a totally different beast.
