Help! Bird crap through the clearcoat...

I was parked at work the other day and a couple hours after I got home, I noticed a very nice bird's dropping on the hood. I usually walk around the car after it has been parked anywhere, but I was in a hurry. I tried the QD with the microfiber and then the clay, both did nothing. I then go out the PC with 3M fine cut rubbing compound and still did not come out  I have several layers of Blitz on the hood and I was surprised the the acid from the bird crap made it through the clearcoat and formed the etching. I would like to find this %&%&!&%! bird and kick his ***. Anyone have any suggestions on getting this out?

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly here, but...if the etching is indeed THROUGH the clear, there's nothing you can do at all other than add paint to it or refinish the area. If it's partially through the clear, the only shot you have is to level the paint around it to the same depth as the etch by either compond then polish, or wetsand (2000 grit ) then compound/polish, but it's risky and there's no guarantee there's enough clear UNDER the etch to make you victorious. Even if you are, that area would then be without UV inhibitors in the resin and would likely fail in a year or so. But then, if you're gonna have to have it right to be happy, you have nothing to lose if you intend to refinish if necessary.

Remember, the clear is about ~ 50 microns or 2 mils thick give or take, or as thick as a fine human hair. Best of luck any which way, birdy crap ( esp. Seagulls) can eat through in 45 minutes in some cases.

Just got done working on it. I went at it again with the 3M SR and rubbed it in a few times and it disappeared . I followed with 2 coats of Blitz. God I hate bird crap! :scared

yah i had tons of bird bombs once parked near a beach i had 2 layers of AIO and S100 and it just slid right off with water didnt leave a mark i also find them to disappear after a couple of week on there own

A bird just crapped on my brand new 2003 IS300 today... I swear it wasn't on there for even an hour, and I now have screwed up clear coat in a 1 1/2 inch diameter on the hood... I washed the whole car down anyway.. hoping it'd dissapear.. it didn't...

I tried liquid wax... it didn't...

I tried Meguiars fine cut polish... it didn't... I think I'm screwed... or at least until I get the right products and a PC :(
