Thanks a lot! Any tips on using these products with PC are appreciated.

#1 - be careful when spraying your engine. Cover parts of it that may be sensitive to water.

#2 - You don't need any kind of cleaner to remove the wax. The polish will remove any wax that is on the paint.

#3 - You don't need to use the PC for polishing the headlights. I think it would be a bit difficult myself. It usually just takes 45 seconds by hand for each headlight. Not worth it to me to get the pad dirty with plastic polish. I don't like to use different products on the same pad.

All you need for polishing plastic headlight lenses is a MF applicator and a cheap MF towel. (and plastic polish, obviously)

It's really not difficult to do by hand.

If the headlight covers are bad, hit them with the SSR 2, 2.5, or 3 using your PC. You might follow that with a hand application of plastic polish.

With the Propel sampler kit, I'd get at least another green light cutting pad. I actually bought 2 of each pad (no orange) in case I dropped or contaminated one or wanted to switch to a different polish without having to clean the pad. I can say that I haven't dropped a pad yet, but I have used two of the same color pads several times to attack a problem with a different polish.

Also, most folks here that use PB's SSR get by with 2.5 to correct their marring and don't need 2, 2.5, and 3. According to the abrasives list , there is such a minor difference between 2 and 2.5, you could probably just go with 2.5.

I didn't see anything on the list to clear up any marring left over from the polishing. Is that what the SSR 2 was for ... step down from 2.5 or 3 to 2?

Sorry i was away a few days. I ordered the whole line of SSR polishes, 3 to 1. It's not like it's going to rot or something. SSR1 should do good for removing the marring. If i can get the explorer to look like that minivan you did, white95max, i will be very pleased. Might even take pictures and try my luck at the contest.

I didn't order any more propel pads, but i can always order more if i need them, they only took 3 days to get here. I got the polishes from autogeek on thursday, and some misc. stuff is coming from autopia on monday.

Thanks All.

Doug, I can't tell what part of the country you live in. But if you live somewhere where it will be getting extremely cold during the coming winter don't leave your new products in the garage. If car care products freeze they usually turn to garbage.
