Hello Everyone,

Two weeks ago i purchased a 2004 Honda Element EX. its gonna be fun detailing it. when it gets kinda warm out again.

Hey there, I live in putnam county NY. The color of the new ride is what they figi blue metallic. it pretty dark and in the sun the metallic really stands out. i went outside today and put some pwc on it darkens the paint really nice. i will probably get some natt's to try as well. it sucks i wont be able to do much detailing till the spring.

Hi & welcome.
I have a 04 Element too. I love it.
The black composite quarter-panels are a bit of a challenge. I have not used any products on them yet, I just thoroughly wash them weekly.
Any thought on the interior? The seats have a highly water resistant fabric.
The dash material is a bit different than other Hondas. It has a sort of texture to it.

Hello nice to see another element owner on here. i think for the interior vinyl im going to use poorboys natural look. i like a real showroom finish. i really dislike a lot of shine. i tried it on one door because it's so cold here and it came out really nice. i have not done anything to the outside plastic yet that will probably wait until spring. for the seats im going to be getting seat covers for the front. for the back i will just vacuum and clean if i get any spots on there. if you have any hints let me know always like to try new things.

Hi Robert...Welcome to DC ...be sure to come to our next Detailing Day in the Spring or a local car show and introduce yourself:)

steve,

I will definitely be going to that this spring i tried to go to one of the show a year ago but my schedule did not allow it. definitely will not miss this year.

Fiji blue is a GREAT color.

I work at a honda dealer and thats probably the best element color in the market.

Those corner panels can be a pita because theres such a limited amount of what you can do to them, but definitely do not polish or wax them! Bad things can come from that.

I like a flat shine too, and i find that just taking a damp chamois around the interior (as long as its not leather) removes the dust nicely and leaves a decent look. (esp on NEW cars.)

Congrats on the purchase and happy detailing!
