Been doing autobody for over 30yrs. I mostly do collision work on newer vehicles but also do older projects. I have been a Maguire`s guy from start to finish with my Flex rotary with 2" wool, I hated the foam pads when they first came out and never used them until just recently, they have improved. I have just acquired, but not used yet, a 3401 and pe-8 and have just recently included Chemical Guys V series compounds which I have used with good results.

I`m looking to get advice on the new foam pads, compounds, polishes and waxes, in that area I`m still a little rusty and looking to get some advice from detailer that do this type work on fresher single stage paint and clear coat.

Welcome. Sounds like you are on the right track if you found us. The CG V series seems to be the starting point for most folks. It`s not bad but there are much better polishes on the market. Menzerma is my personal favorite as far as compounds and polishes. Once I found Menz the CGs stuff started gathering dust.
