Hello folks,

I hope I can learn from all you pros and hopefully get into the world of detailing.

Let me introduce myself and my situation.

I recently just turned 20 years old and would like to get into the world of detailing (weekend warrior) because I have recently repainted my 1993 Honda Civic through the $100 paintjob route.

Now you may be shaking your head saying "oh no, not another one of those horrible paintjobs". Well let me explain that I did not use rustoleum but a marine topside paint called "Interlux Brightside". I painted the vehicle black with a high density foam roller!

Interlux Brightside Black paint is a single stage enamel which is equivalent to Maaco's top ambassador paintjob. This paint is Yacht paint. It has UV protection and Teflon to protect from environment conditions, protect from fade, and is durable.

This paint also has very high gloss out of the can.

I plan to wetsand my car and give it a full detail job.

You will begin to see me asking questions around the forum because I have recently purchase a Vector rotary hi speed polisher (branded as Neiko Tools USA). Hopefully you guys can help me choose the right backing plate, pads and stuff!

Here is how she stands right now...

Welcome to the group...:howdy

I must admit I was shocked when I read you got it painted for $100...we used to have a commercial on around here that was done by a guy named Earl Schibe and he would come on and say that I can paint any care for $99.95...

Now the fact you did it with a roller and got that result is amazing...

Hey, welcome from PEI.
We call that a "Crick Job" here in PEI, not as common as it used to be.
Hey, do what works. Good quality auto paint in Canada will cost $500-$700 per car, so there you go.
