Hello From St. Louis

Hi, I'm happy to be a new member. I've been in the detailing business at one location outside St. Louis For 16 years. I have seen and worked on just about everything from yugo's to bentley's, as well as boats, bikes, campers, and a few semi's. I always strive to do the best job I can for every customer even when they seen not to appreciate the extra work. A well detailed car is it's own advertisement, and i have no shortage of work! I am not totally up to date on all the latest and greatest products, I currently use mostly auto magic products. I would like to learn about some new stuff that would make my jobs faster and easier with an equal end result. I currently use rotary buffers and only occasionally an orbital buffer. Most of my finish work is done by hand...waxing, sealing etc. Anyway I will be asking questions from time to time to see what other detail shops use and their processes, as well as offer any advice I can give to help others.

Welcome from Sonoma County CA

Not a full timer here but one with over 30 years experience at detailing cars as a part timer.

Lots of great lines here..I suggest having a look at Poorboys World for his polish with carnauba its a great AIO IMO
 
Welcome to DC Mike! I think your attitude about your work is great. I'm sure you can find some tips and product information here to make your results even better.
 
Welcome from a fellow St. Louisan! I joined here not long ago and have already learned a ton.

Sadly, I was finally able to afford a PC about a month ago and have yet to use it due to crappy weather (as well as lack of time).

Anyway...hang out here and you are certain to learn a lot. I know I have.

Welcome. I'm from St. Louis as well.

As others have said, there is soooo much information here. You'll learn lots of nice tricks too that will make detailing easier.

What crappy weather? LOL. I'm going to clean the car up in a few days to see what kind of damage the ice did while sliding off of my car.

I know The ice was 3 inches thick on my car. Thankfully my GN sit's comfortably in the garage.

I started to spray the ice off my wifes car with my power washer and a huge piece of it lifted and landed hard on the frt fender...no damage...whew!
I'm just glad no tree limbs landed on it.:)
