Fellow Autopians,

I started out using an Absorber to dry off my car. Then I discovered the Water Bandit and it was far better- less drag and it soaked up more water. After trying the super large MF from neatitems, I find this is the best way to dry the car. It doesn't have that drag along the paint, it is plush, needs no wringing after each panel, it absorbs better than the WB and can easily dry areas that the WB could not due to its spongelike properties of not liking to conform to curved panels. Why would anyone still use a WB instead of the large MF? Just wondering:nixweiss

A big blue towel, that is. I use the Absorber and a YoSteve MF right now to dry, and am hoping that the big blue towel makes this chore a little easier. I have a gas powered leaf blower but would never point it at my car - even though it is 4-cycle. Just afraid of getting exhaust spittle on my paint. And because I have a perfectly good gas blower, I really can't justify getting an electric blower.

Also, I believe that towel drying (done properly) gives the paint a bit of an extra shine that you just don't get from air drying. JMHO.

the large mf towels work exceptionally well for drying. Both the big blue and the neatitems are great. I've found that I prefer the plush terry versus the waffle weave though so I always grab the 2' x 4' towel. :xyxthumbs

Thanks for the info. I may very well have to buy a few of the larger towels and give them a try. You may be on to something Rad 21. Laters

I just joined up, looking forward to receiving some tips. I detail cars on the side, now that I am retired. Always looking for new ideas and better ways to do things.
