New member here, thanks for the add. I was referred to this site by a member of the Stingray Forums. I`ve done my own detailing by hand over the years but limited to wash, prewax cleaners, and wax. Never used a buffer but finally bit the bullet and purchased a Griots 6". I`ll be here looking for tips and best practices from everyone. I`d like to learn how to do correction of minor scratches and swirls. I`ll leave the tough scratches to the experts.

Where in NY? I am near Rochester and would be willing to help/teach you the paint correction stuff if you can make it out here.

Thanks DC. I`m near Utica so not too far away. Any my father in law lives in Rochester so I`m out there form time to time. I`d definitely like to take you up on that offer. Just PM me, let me know what`s convenient for you and we`ll come up with a time. Many thanks!

MJ, welcome aboard! Good choice on the Griot`s polisher. I`d look at their website for guidance on its use. It`s not a big deal and it will yield pleasing results.

Lots of great folks here.

I was born and raised in Geneva and retired to Texas 21 years ago. I have one suggestion for any serious detail hobbyist who lives in the Finger Lakes or vicinity - MOVE SOUTH!!!
