headlights - Sandpaper

Wet sanding gives a more refined/professional look. In my opinion you just get better results. I do headlights for a living, and I usually use all dry paper with a DA sander. That being said, if this is your personal vehicle, trust me wet sanding is the ticket.
 
Yea I agree, I also specialize in Headlight resto and I mostly use dry paper but on a Angled Die Grinder I use 2 3/8 inch disks. As for your lights I would use wet sand paper. Start with 800,1000,1500,2500 than go to compounding.
