2000 grit (wet) 2 passes

1500 grit (wet) 2 pass

1000 grit (wet) 1 pass

850 grit (wet) 1 pass

1000 grit (wet) 2 passes

1500 grit (wet) 2 passes

2000 grit (wet) 2 passes



PB ssr2.5 on lcc orange pad

Obsessive Detail LP on lcc white pad



i only sanded in the area you can see, however the whole light has been polished the the LP, i was just experimenting this time...next time im going to do the whole light with the same process except with 1 pass added to everything, you can still see some pitting

in the last picture you can see a little bit of hazing in the corner, that picture was actually taken before the ssr2.5...i did the LP then the 2.5 then the LP again

why do you start from a high grit to low grit back to a high grit?

because there is still some of the original protective coating on the lense, i wanted to see if i could get away with using a high grit to get rid of the oxidation and pitting, while still keeping some of the protective coating...didn't work so i had to bump up to a lower grit....then i would follow up with a higher grit again, to get rid of the sanding marks that the lower grit left...just like polishing
