HD Uno

HD Uno is a 3 in 1 product which will remove 1200 grid but recommended to follow it with a 2000 grid to give you the best results when using the HD Uno and its not just a compound its a polish and finish for the swirls all in one. So you just won't save in product all you need is to use 3 different pads to give you the results your looking when needed. :dance

Whats the difference between this and the Mark-V Uno?

That's what the Mark-V product does, cuts with a wool pad and then finishes with a soft foam pad. I was kinda confused by the suggestion that HD Uno was a breakthough product when the Mark-V product does exactly the same and has been around for years

We manufacture our own products. If the products are similar, it is a coincidence. The goal of their product may be the same, but the product is not.

MARK V UNO:

Uno - All in One Polish.

Description and Uses:

UNO is the most unique product you will ever use. It is great for detailers and body shops to create the ultimate finish with ease.

UNO does not contain silicones or waxes. It is a micro-fine polishing product that can easily remove 1200 sanding scratches when using a wool pad. But, when using a polishing foam pad, UNO will create a flawless, show car finish.

UNO contains a unique abrasive unlike any used in the auto care industry. This makes it the only product a body shop needs to create a show car finish in ½ the time.

To remove 1200 – 1500 sanding scratches, use UNO with a wool buffing pad. This combination will easily remove the sanding scratches and not just hide them like many other products.

Then, use UNO with a finishing foam pad. This will remove any swirls created by the wool pad and create a flawless, deep finish.

Advantages:

Removes scratches like a heavy compound, finishes like a fine polish.

Easy to use.

Neutral pH. Will not "track" or stain paint.

Very low residue. Less dust and easier clean-up then competing products.

Body shop safe. No silicones or waxes.

Can be used with any type of buffing pad.

Water-based product makes it safe for the environment.

Apply by PC or high speed buffer

HD UNO:

HD Uno - High Definition Reconditioning

Specially formulated for our High Definition Reconditioning System. HD UNO (Part # 420) safely works on all clear coat finishes and water based paints. Removes 1500 grit (or finer) sand paper scratches, orange peal, heavy oxidation, swirl marks, and spider webbing. This revolutionary reconditioning product delivers perfect level cutting and swirl free polishing. Best when used at low speeds.

I thought you couldn't (legally) have 2 products with the same name doing similar things?

You can't, it's a violation of trademark law to confuse two similar products with the same name

I have both UNO's but yet to give them a real go. HD UNO doesn't work well

with LC pads...maybe i'll mix both UNO's together and call 2NO's!:xyxthumbs

I'm a noob at buffing and polishing and I got the set from HD. It is great stuff. I took my time and I had a few minute scratches and swirls on my car. I did the drivers rear quarter, sail panel and bumper and the results were outstanding. Like I said I am a noob but it seemed to work really well. I just need to get the buffing speed where it is suppose to be and all should be well.

Being from So. Cal, I have had the opportunity to use both products. I've been using the Mark V UNO for about 2 years. I love it. Works great with all types of pads so I can adjust the strength.

I got some of the 3D HD Uno about 1 month ago. It definitely isn't the same product. It doesn't cut as well, buff as easily or finish as well as the Mark V UNO. It is less expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I just used the Mark V UNO to buff out a car last week. It is a 51 chevy Hot Rod that the owner wanted to get ready for the Grand National Hot Rod Show in Pomona, CA. The car had fine swirls and scratches. I used the Mark V UNO with a yellow foam pad at approximately 1500 rpm with my DeWalt polisher. The car came out gorgeous. I then protected it by applying the Mark V R-88 wax by hand.

I just found out the car took first place in its class over 39 other cars.

If you are in SoCal or Vegas area, you should check out one of our Free detailing seminars. You will learn to buff and polish like a pro and we do use the UNO there.

If not, maybe these videos might help a bit:

Hm...the first - and only - time i tried it (rotary w/ccs white) the pad absorbed

most of the polish. I'll give it another go but i'm thinking a low profile pad is better.

Can't go into this more here, but I will say HD Uno is a registered trademark of 3D International.

I don't care for the ccs white with the rotary, but used HD UNO with it on the flex 3401 once to get out 2 scratches on an otherwise perfect Vette. Both came right out.

Hi! Orange 5.25" pad with UNO works great,we tested with 2000 wetsanding at first and then directly with orange pad with 5" backing plate (without wool cutting pad) and that worked perfectly,we were working at 1800 with high speed, but there's a little difference in range 1500-2000.

Then we passed blue pad with UNO at 1000-1200,and we finished with another blue pad and poxy at 1000rpm and ok.

I'll search some pictures.

Bye:2thumbs:
