hazing

my only true autopian experience involves my current experiments with BF and Z.

while i was burnishing the final BF after 3M RCFC, i noticed that the "rays" from the reflected lamp would change. i tested this. when i would move left to right, the ray was up and down. when i moved up and down, the ray was left and right.

this means that i was not removing all of the residual product regardless of the reason. i eventually removed it with a MF. this taught me 2 things. 1. i now have a reference for successful burnishing. 2. MF owns!

the 3M fine cut didn't completely blend the swirls or water stains. at least, finally, i don't have swirls anymore. i have half-swirls. they are like 1/8" scratches that were part of a swirl. but, i'm getting tired.

oops, i almost forgot. i think the haze that some posts are referring to is caused by incomplete removal of products regardless of the reason.

I guess you are using the PC. What pad did you use with the 3M fine cut? I guess you are using the BF polish. I have never used the BF products but, I wonder if you needed to use SMR after the FC and then the BF polish. Anyway if you have time fill us in.

i am applying by hand. if you know of a used PC in the area, i am looking for one.

i used terry towel for fine cut.

i use BF polish & protectant.

my bad, i always use meg's #9 after the fine cut and before BF.

the hazing went completely away once i used the MF. it was hazing with cotton towels even after 3 fresh towels. it simply was not pulling off the BF. that is what i wanted to share. maybe the same thing happens with klasse and stuff.

my remaining issue is the swirls & water stains. i have been advised many times that the PC is the way to work in the compunds for this. i have to find a used one though. i am sure you probably agree. my blisters are just starting to heal from compounding problem areas on my wife's car.
