Hazing on roof...

I have this odd problem with my car. It has hazing on the roof, and the roof only. But the weird part is it is ONLY seen when looking at the car from the passengers side. yah... very confused as to why.

I have tried wiping it off, and tried washing it off. This weekend I am going to compund the area, and see if that helps.

I just find it VERY odd, that it is ONLY seeable from when standing on the passengers side!

Any idea on how to fix/solve this?

:waxing:

How to fix it is fairly simple (at least in theory) and you have the right idea- use abrasives to smooth out the hazing. That oughta work as long as you don't have some kind of serious paint issue like cracking or clearcoat failure (the roof takes a lot of beating from the sun, etc.). If the roof was repainted it might be aging differently from the presumably factory paint on the rest of the car. Some vehicles are actually notorious for having factory-repaired roof damage (Ford Crown Vics come to mind, espeically the P71 package cars for some reason).

The "why do I only see it from one side" thing is a perfect example of how difficult paint inspection is. I *usually* find that one specific viewing angle shows imperfections a lot better than any other, it's a matter of how the light rays hit the paint.

Still the original paint on the car (6 years old)...

Anywho, I am going to take a stab at fixing this 'problem' when I am detailing my girls car this weekend. Thanks for the advice! :xyxthumbs
