haze using PC

Hi, I am new here. I have some questions about using the PC.

I washed and used a claybar for the entire car.

Now I am using 3M SMR on CMA's white pad (@ speed 4). It doesn't seem that the swirl marks are going away.

After using SMR on the hood, I tried the AIO w/ white pad. After removing the residue with a MC cloth. I notice an uneven haze on the hood. I have to use good pressure to remove the haze.

I think I am not using the PC correctly. Is there any techniques that I can follow with the PC. I 've been searching past threads and I can't find one.

Can anyone help please.

If SMR is not getting the job done with the white pad, I would step up to using it with the yellow pad. Also, you must break down the SMR all the way. As you work it in, it begins to become a finer and finer polish. Eventually it will leave no hazing. Step up the speed to 5 if you feel comfortable. This will help break down the 3M SMR more quickly. Afterwards, you may or may not feel like AIO is necessary. Speed 4 or less with a white pad sounds about right for AIO. AIO does not need to be worked in nearly as long as SMR.

Do a SEARCH looking for posts from Carguy and Geekysteve. Both have posted detailed descriptions about proper PC techniques. Also look for DavidB's video on PC use. All the info is here at Autopia; find it.

The PC is a great tool but does take some learning and expertise to get the best results. Spend some time reading posts and then trying them out on your car to refine your techniques. You'll get the hang of it.
