Haze on Instrument panel/cluster.

The clear plastic on my instrument cluster (speedo, tach etc) is hazed/foggy for some reason. I think the previous owner tried to clean it with something that fogged it up. It's not scratched just, well, hazy. How should I approach this problem, what works well for bringing back the clarity? I tried windex and a microfiber but no luck.

Thank you.

I've had real good luck taking them out of the car, then westanding and polishing them. I start out with about 800 grit, then work my way to 1500 grit. then I'll take my PC and a cutting pad and go at it with Optimum Compound. Then I finish up with the PC and a polishing pad and Optimum Polish.

They come out looking crystal clear, and it only takes about 30 minutes.

Definitely do not use Windex on the cluster. Try a good plastic polish. One Grand makes a good one. Sometimes once they a are stained, nothing helps.

I tried forever to polish the cluster of my Van... no luck!

Turns out the haze is on the INSIDE of the cluster... Taking it apart allowed me to clean the inside with a MF towel and glass cleaner... Turned out perfectly!

Polishing plastic I use Plastic-X from Meguiars:ca
